Australian Senate recognises BIH's recommendations

Australia has a gaping hole in the regulation of crypto assets so it was good to see the Australian Senate not only recognising the Blockchain Innovation Hub’s submission but taking up most of its recommendations in the latest senate inquiry.

The BIH team were understandably very pleased with this outcome and are calling on the Parliament to adopt the recommendations as soon as possible.

Co Director Chris Berg said that this was ideal for attracting jobs, investment and innovation to Australia. “Policy change is needed to provide regulatory clarity to the industry and ensure a thriving future digital economy” he said.

“We have an opportunity to take a global leadership position and compete with countries such as the United States, Singapore and Switzerland in this incredibly vibrant sector.”
