RMIT students tap into blockchain ecosystem

Our blockchain courses attract students from a range of disciplines including business, finance, supply chain, construction, marketing and fashion who are wanting to learn about the opportunities, risks and challenges with emerging technology.

This year our strong partnerships continued with the blockchain ecosystem allowing students to have a deeper understanding of the latest innovations being developed in their fields of study and career opportunities as well as hands on experience.

In RMIT’s Cryptofinance and Cryptocurrency course, students were given SamoyedCoin tokens via TipLink to learn how to create digital wallets and hold, swap, stake and transfer digital assets such as cryptocurrencies and NFTs.

With guidance from Lecturer Denise Tambanis, they found out about key players in the blockchain ecosystem such as the Solana Foundation and how new technology like TipLink is being developed to improve the user experience in digital assets.

Students also had the opportunity to use Chainalysis’ Storyline product to:

🔗 Understand how machine learning and customer networks are being used to map on-chain data to real-world entities
🔍 Investigate a stolen NFT using Storyline’s data analytics and visualisation tools
🧐 Learn about compliance and regulatory tools in the Web3 space

Blockchain technology is not going away so upskilling either in short online courses, twelve week courses or undertaking a Professional Certificate or Degree is a great way to stay in the loops. Find out more on our Blockchain Education page.
