Tim Wilson
The Honorable Tim Wilson is a Digital Finance CRC PhD candidate researching the potential of future markets for carbon credits and their influence on long-term capital deployment to achieve decarbonisation.
He has worked in climate policy for more than 15 years having studied carbon accounting and served as the Federal Assistant Minister for Industry, Energy and Emissions Reduction where he passed Australia’s first offshore electricity infrastructure legislation to kick-start an offshore wind industry.
Tim served as a Federal MP, Chair of the House of Representatives’ Economics Committee overseeing financial regulators and the Reserve Bank of Australia, and served as Australia’s Human Rights Commissioner defending civil liberties and promoting property rights for indigenous Australians.
He has a Bachelor of Arts (Policy Studies) and a Master of Diplomacy and Trade (International Trade) from Monash University and a Graduate Certificate in Energy and Carbon Studies from Murdoch University.
